Hey Steve,

We hope you're staying cool during the ongoing heat wave -- but we do have some hot news to share with you. We are proud to designate the 444.425 KA0KMJ UHF repeater as the official amateur radio repeater for the Minnesota State Fair.

We started this effort in 2022 and found great success with hams connecting with others who were attending the fair. Our goal is to give a primary repeater that everyone who carries a radio can use. The benefit of the 444.425 is it's very wide coverage across the entire metro while providing solid HT coverage everywhere on the fairgrounds -- including inside buildings.

So please program it in your HT if you're attending this year and don't be shy in dropping your callsign. The repeater is on the air to be used - so don't think you're tying anything up. That's why it's there - to be used!
